(N/1013/4/0002(05/27)(TVET/QF14622)
The Diploma in Culinary Arts at Kompas International College (KIC) is designed to develop skilled,
creative and industry-ready culinary professionals equipped with the knowledge, technical
competencies and practical experience required in today's dynamic food and hospitality industry.
The programme provides students with a comprehensive foundation in culinary techniques, food
preparation, kitchen operations, food safety, menu planning, pastry and bakery production, and
restaurant operations. Through a combination of theoretical learning, practical training and industry-
based experience, students develop the competencies and confidence to work effectively in
professional culinary environments.
A key distinguishing feature of the programme is its Work-Based Learning (WBL) curriculum, which
integrates structured academic learning with practical training in industry settings. Students have
opportunities to apply their culinary knowledge and technical skills in real working environments,
allowing them to understand industry expectations, develop professional discipline and gain
valuable workplace experience.
At KIC, we aim to nurture graduates who are not only competent in culinary practices but also
demonstrate creativity, teamwork, communication, entrepreneurship, professionalism and a
commitment to continuous learning.
